Frustrated….

Last night while I was writing, I discovered that the chapter I'm working on has turned from Third Person POV now to First Person POV. I think it's because when I write, it's normally First Person, and with this story I'm trying to do Third person. I'm really aggravated at myself. I like writing as the character, but I wanted to try something different. Now I have to decide if I'm going to change the whole story to First Person, or if I'm going to just change the one chapter. I know which one will be easier, but I have to read the whole story and see which one would make more sense.

Ugh it's too early for decisions like this one!!!

FINALLY!!!!!!

I think I've finally beat this block that I've been having. It makes me really happy to have finally made more progress on my story. I wrote about 1,700 words tonight, which is over the daily word count for NANO. So what i think I'm going to do is aim for writing 1,700 words a day a see where that takes me. I would like to finish the story by the end of January, but considering I'm still figuring out what's going to happen, I' a little unsure at this point.

Right now is not a good time to make anymore decisions. I might just pass out in the computer chair!!! So it's time for bed.

Saturday, just another day...

So it's Saturday, and I'm at work.

I'm kind of hoping that it's going to be too cold out for people to want to come in. It was 11 Degrees this morning!!! I have a couple things that I need to do, then I'm going to try and solve this writing block I've been having.

Busy Busy

So every time I try to sit down and write, I get sidetracked by something and I only write down a few sentences. It's starting to feel like I'm never going to finish this book, but now I am so determined. I like how I keep saying that BUT never have a chance to write!!

Today, I am going to make myself write, even if it kills me. I have a few hours before I need to head to work, and I should be able to get something going again.

I just need to figure out what the characters are going to do so that I can get back in the groove of writing.

Not another one!!

I really wish that I would stop having such vivid dreams sometimes, because now I have to take a break from the story that I'm writing that has more words and write down this amazing dream that I had last night. I know that if I don't write it down now while I still remember, I am going to forget and there will be another story lost to the dreams. Ugh.

I should probably get going on that...

Stuck

I've only managed to write about another three or so paragraphs. I'm kind of stuck with what I want to happen next. I think I figured out what the plot is and what is going to happen, but I just can't get passed this scene I'm in. Maybe taking a break for a month wasn't such a great idea. I should've kept going with writing since I was pounding it out.

Oh well, lesson learned. I'm hoping that I'll be able to sit down after dinner tonight and figure out what I need to do.

It's probably a good thing that it's snowing. Well besides the fact that I want to just curl up and sleep. lol

A New Year

So now that I have recovered from November and now December, it's time to get started on writing the rest of my novel. I'm excited to get started writing again. Although there is going to be a problem with writing… While taking my "no writing" break, I managed to have at least two dreams where I just HAD to write down what they were. I have a feeling that I'm going to end up working on more than one project, and it's going to take me forever to finish anything. But I've made it my New Year's Resolution to finish a novel and get it published.

I've actually done a lot of research into publishing it myself, thanks to a blog by another author who publishes her books herself as an eBook on kindle. Even though that's not exactly what I wanted to do, at least my work will be getting out there. Which is extremely exciting for me. I can't say how much I enjoy writing. Most of the time, I end up thinking and talking to my characters (Is this the onset of a mental problem… I hope not).

Another reason that I'm excited to finally have a way to publish my writing, is because I let someone read the beginning of my novel, and she loved it. Actually, she's been begging me for more. It's made me feel so much better about wanting to become a writer. I know loving to write doesn't actually mean I'm a good writer, but having some feed back about what I've written really helps. I know I keep saying it, but I really am excited about writing.

Here's just a little teaser of what I'm writing :)

It was one those hot days, where no matter what you do, you can not cool down. The heat rolled off in waves on the black asphalt. The pools were almost to the point of boiling, but that did not stop them from playing ball.
Cassandra was up at bat and as she wiped the sweat from her brow, she pulled down her cap, tapped the top corner of the home plate and stared down the pitcher, waiting for whatever surprise he might throw at her. The catcher squatted behind her, signaling to the pitcher. He shook off a few suggestions before finally picking one. He hated when Cassandra was up at bat. There were not many pitches that she could not hit and it also did not help that she was left-handed. In the games this block played, she was the only one that was left-handed. Everyone knew as soon as Cassandra was up, they had to reposition themselves.
The two runners on base took their lead off their bases as the pitcher wound his first pitch. Woosh. The ball slammed into the catcher’s mitt. The runners returned to their bases to get ready for the next pitch.
